Professor and Chair Stephen Hawes is responsible to the Dean of the School of Public Health for the educational and administration affairs of the department. The chair presides at meetings, provides leadership and mentoring of faculty, and formulates and implements the short- and long-term planning, strategy, decision-making and coordination of instruction within the department.

The role is also responsible for partnering with the HR Associate on Workday matters and coordinating numerous finance functions, including Academic Student Employee appointments.

The communications manager oversees the department's communications program, coordinating communications that strengthen visibility among key audiences. Specific tasks include strategic event planning, oversee website strategy, content writing, branding, graphic design, alumni and donor relations, and other special projects.
Front Office Reception/Student Assistants
 
The student assistants maintain the department's main front office reception. They respond to general inquiries, maintain conference room reservations, assist with mail and copying, and work on projects for other functional areas of the department.
