Maia grew up in the Seattle area and earned her BA in Medical Anthropology & Global Health from the University of Washington. With a background in pediatric clinical research, she has focused on chronic pain, sleep, mental health, and online behavioral health interventions. Currently, Maia works at the UW School of Nursing, investigating exercise interventions for aging populations living with HIV. She is particularly dedicated to non-pharmacological health solutions and analyzing large population health data to enhance accessibility and usability, ultimately aiming to improve healthcare access for marginalized communities.
