Senior Application Developer - Heluna Health on behalf of Los Angeles County Department of Public Health
Description:
Heluna Health is hiring a Senior Application Developer to work with the LA County Acute Communicable Disease Control Epidemiology and Data Unit. The selected candidate will be hired by Heluna Health and placed within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. This position will support COVID-19 response efforts and is fully remote. Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply as long as they can work Pacific Time hours.
Summary: This position will work with the Data Science team on primarily data engineering (automation) projects.
The duties of the Senior Application Developer include, but are not limited to:
• Maintain and extend ETL pipelines in Airflow to support surveillance data;
• Use software engineering best practices to test and put into production transformations from the Data Science team;
• Play a big role in transitioning away from RDBMS to HDFS
• Collaborate with colleagues, external vendors, and partners on data infrastructure.
• Help develop and mature the use of APIs for internal/external stakeholders and to support analytics products; and
• Accepts responsibility for other duties as assigned.
