MPH With Master Of Arts In International Studies (MAIS)

Degree Requirements

You may apply up to 12 graduate credits earned at the UW toward the requirements of both degrees, with permission of both the Department of Epidemiology and the Jackson School. One master’s thesis, combining aspects of international affairs and epidemiologic research, will fulfill the thesis requirement for both degrees. 

Department of Epidemiology MPH
You will be required to fulfill all degree requirements for the MPH Epidemiology degree program, specific to the track into which you are admitted. The Epidemiology MPH Degree Checklist details the degree requirements for the Epi MPH.

Jackson School MAIS
You will be required to fulfill the requirements specified on the Jackson School M.A. in International Studies website. 

Application Instructions

Each degree program requires a separate application. You may apply to each simultaneously or you may, during the first year in one of the degree programs, apply to the other. You will be asked on the Department of Epidemiology application and the Jackson School application if you are applying to a concurrent degree program. Evaluations and decisions about admission are done without consultation between the Department of Epidemiology and the Jackson School.
