Cami Rencken is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Washington and a Trainee with the University of Washington Firearm Injury & Policy Research Program. She holds a Master of Science in Global Public Health from Brown University and a Bachelor of Science in Global Disease Biology from the University of California, Davis. Cami's research focuses on firearm violence in the US, utilizing observational data for causal inference, engaging communities in research, and evaluating policy impacts. During her time at the UW, she spent two years at the START Center, contributing to various projects, including two related to Private Sector PrEP Delivery Policies and Water Reuse Standards & Regulations. Her dissertation, funded by Grandmothers Against Gun Violence and an NIH TL1 Predoctoral training grant, employs a mixed-methods approach to investigate the adverse mental health outcomes associated with school shootings.
