The Department of Epidemiology (Epi) is at an important crossroads in its story. As we embark on a new decade in 2020, we’re excited about some major milestones for Epi and the UW School of Public Health (SPH).

This summer, UW SPH and Epi will mark the school’s 50th anniversary by acknowledging the incredible changemakers in our community and kicking off a year of celebrations. We’ll also be moving to a new home for Epi in the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health, where we look forward to forging connections with interdisciplinary partners and our entire Epi network.

This past year, we welcomed the largest class ever for the UW Department of Epidemiology. As we plan to launch a new common core MPH program in 2020, we are confident Epi students will continue to lead the charge in public health research and practice that makes a difference.

These upcoming changes and anticipated growth in the department provide us with a unique new opportunity to bring the UW Epi community together more often and to learn from each other. To do this, we need your help.

As we move into the new year, consider making a donation to the Epi Excellence Fund to help us meet our goal of raising $8,000. Gifts to this fund have far-reaching benefits by supporting our goals to support the student experience and to build a stronger Epi community.

Join us in our vision for Epi in 2020 and beyond by contributing to the Epi Excellence Fund campaign and helping us spread the word.
