University of Washington Commencement Ceremony at Husky Stadium
The University of Washington will honor the graduating class of 2018 on Saturday, June 9, 2018 during the University’s 143rd Annual Commencement Exercises. More than 5,500 graduates will take the field at the magnificent Husky Stadium to the cheers and applause of 40,000 family members and friends. All graduates are required to wear cap and gown. School of Public Health Graduation Celebration
The School of Public Health (SPH) will be holding its Graduation Celebration for the class of 2018 on Sunday, June 10 at 11 AM in the Alaska Airlines Arena (Hec Ed Pavilion). We ask all graduating Master’s and PhD students to join us for this momentous event. The celebration will include a hooding for doctoral recipients. Graduation Celebration Schedule
- 10:00 am: Graduating students arrive for check-in and staging
- 10:15 am: Dean, Associate Deans, Department Chairs, Interdisciplinary and Undergraduate Program Directors and Participating Faculty (processional) check-in and staging
- 10:30 am: Arena doors open to the public
- 11:00-1:30 pm: Graduation Program
- 1:30-3:30 pm: All-School Reception / Department of Epidemiology Reception
Academic Attire: This celebration will be formal. Students are encouraged to wear caps and gowns. Department Chairs and faculty are asked to wear academic regalia.
Department of Epidemiology Reception
Immediately following the celebration, the Department of Epidemiology will hold a reception for graduates and their families and friends in the Founders’ Club, located in the west end of the Alaska Airlines Arena above the Husky Hall of Fame. Join the Department Chair, Stephen Hawes, and faculty for some champagne, light snacks, and good conversation. The reception will last until 3:30 pm.

Regalia is highly recommended for the Graduation Celebration. Students should place their order by May 20 through Oak Hall. For more information on how to order the proper regalia for your graduation ceremony, visit the UW Commencement site.
If you are a faculty member interested in participating in the processional, you can order your academic regalia now until May 7, 2018. This year, SPH will cover the cost of regalia rentals for faculty. Instructions are provided in the faculty RSVP survey for the SPH Graduation Celebration.
If you wish to park on campus, pre-paid parking permits will be required for both the UW Commencement and the SPH Graduation Celebration events. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the order form, May 3 to May 21, 2017.
