Research Interests

Dr. Long’s current research is focused on the use of implementation strategies to identify and reduce gaps in delivery of evidenced-based interventions to improve child and maternal health. Her primary postdoctoral work aims to reduce stillbirths through changes in obstetrical care delivery at a tertiary care hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. Dr. Long is also interested in infectious disease research, with previous experience examining HIV among transgender women and their partners in Peru, and female sex workers in Kenya. Her current research includes projects focused on HIV testing during family planning, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on obstetrical care.
