Heluna Health is hiring multiple Epidemiology Analyst positions to work with the Los Angeles County Acute Communicable Disease Control Epidemiology and Data Unit. Selected candidates will be hired by Heluna Health and placed within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. All positions will support COVID-19 response efforts and are fully remote. Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply as long as they can work Pacific Time hours. 

The Epidemiology Analyst will assist in the planning, design, and implementation of health-related surveillance systems or epidemiologic studies, including outbreak investigation and analysis of epidemiology surveys for COVID-19. 

The duties of the Epidemiology Analyst include, but are not limited to: 

• Designs and conducts epidemiologic surveys, analyzes COVID-19 surveillance data, and assesses risk factors and trend data; 

• Prepares epidemiological reports using health data from multiple sources; 

• Help standardize data collection workflows, variable definitions, create data report forms, and prepare reports on data; 

• Reviews epidemiological data collected in outbreak investigations and in case and contact interviews for internal inconsistencies, missing data, and follow-s up with relevant parties; 

• Prepares summaries of epidemiologic studies for COVID-19 presentations in community settings or at professional meetings; 

• Proficiency in SAS required, desirable experience in R, SQL, or Python as well. 

• Complies with DPH training regarding confidential information related to personal information; and 

• Accepts responsibility for other duties as assigned.
